Privacy Policy

Taxa ("we," "our," "the app") is a BIR compliance guidance app for Filipino entrepreneurs. This policy explains what information Taxa collects, how it's used, and what choices you have.

Using Taxa without an account

Taxa's free tier does not require you to create an account or sign in. When you complete onboarding without signing in, your business profile, reminders, bookmarks, and checklist progress are stored only locally on your device (using standard iOS/Android local storage). This local data is never transmitted to our servers unless you choose to sign in.

Information we collect if you sign in

You can optionally sign in with Google, Apple, or email/password — for example, after subscribing to Taxa Premium, or to restore a prior purchase on a new device. If you sign in, we collect and store:

• Account identifiers: your email address and a unique account ID, provided by Google, Apple, or created for email/password sign-in.
• Business profile data: business name, business type, tax type, industry, and registration date, which you enter during onboarding.
• App data: your reminders, bookmarks, and compliance checklist progress, so this data can sync across devices.
• Subscription status: whether you have an active Taxa Premium subscription and its expiry date, managed through Apple/Google's in-app purchase systems and our subscription provider, RevenueCat.

Third-party services we use

Taxa relies on the following third-party services to operate:

• Firebase (Google): authentication, database storage (Firestore), and push notification delivery.
• RevenueCat: processes and verifies in-app subscription purchases made through Apple App Store or Google Play. RevenueCat receives purchase and subscription event data from Apple/Google to confirm your subscription status.
• Apple App Store / Google Play Billing: all payment processing is handled directly by Apple and Google. Taxa never receives or stores your payment card details.

Each of these providers has its own privacy policy governing how they handle data on our behalf.

Notifications

If you enable notifications, Taxa schedules reminders directly on your device for upcoming BIR deadlines. These are local, on-device notifications — Taxa does not use push notification services and does not collect a device push token.

Data deletion and account requests

Taxa does not currently have a self-service option in the app to delete your account or data. To request deletion of your Taxa account and associated data, email joshualasac@gmail.com from the email address linked to your account, with the subject line "Account Deletion Request." We will confirm and complete the deletion within 30 days.

A deletion request permanently removes your account identifiers (email, name), business profile data, reminders, bookmarks, and checklist progress from our systems. Subscription and purchase history may be retained by Apple, Google, and RevenueCat per their own respective policies, independent of your Taxa account deletion. If you never signed in to Taxa, your data was never sent to our servers in the first place — it lives only on your device and is removed automatically when you uninstall the app.

Children's privacy

Taxa is intended for business owners and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
